This toggle is available in your Whop Business settings under the checkout category.

When enabled, subscriptions will remain active as Stripe attempts to recharge failed renewal payments. For communities, the customer will continue to have access to your server with the given role. For software, the customer will continue to have access to your application using their license key. Stripe will follow the standard Smart Retry timeline, which is 4 charge reattempts over the span of 1 week.* If a Smart Retry is successful, the users subscription will continue like normal. If Smart Retries is unsuccessful, the key and/or membership will be permanently terminated. The product's cancellation action will then run for the user.

When disabled, subscriptions will be marked as invalid when the first renewal charge fails. For communities, the customer will continue to have access to your server with the given role. For software, the customer will not be able to access the program if licensing authentication is setup properly. Stripe will follow the standard Smart Retry timeline, which is 4 charge reattempts over the span of 1 week.* If a Smart Retry is successful, the users subscription will change from Invalid to Active. If Smart Retries is unsuccessful, the key will be permanently terminated. The product's cancellation action will then run for the user.

Turning off "Access while past due" will run a cancellation action on any past due subs

If Smart Retry and custom retry schedules are disabled, subscriptions will be instantly terminated when the first payment fails.

*Note: If you are using your own Stripe account and API keys, you can adjust the retry schedule to your preference on the Stripe dashboard .
