🔓What permissions am I granting to Whop with my wallet and Discord?

When connecting a crypto wallet to Whop, there are certain permissions we need to access in order to verify your ownership of tokens.

When connecting your wallet to Whop (MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet, etc), you may see a dialog box detailing certain permissions you are grating to Whop.

While it may seem like you are giving Whop full control of your wallet, that is not the case. This authorization of your wallet is a read-only connection. We simply need the permission to interact with your NFTs smart contract as a means of verifying ownership. We can not initiate sending crypto or tokens out of your wallet.

If you feel uncomfortable or would rather discontinue using our platform, you can revoke Whop's connection to your wallet at any time in your "Connected sites" settings.

*PS: If you are concerned about the “initiate transactions” permission, you can learn more about that here. This is a recent update MetaMask pushed, and it does NOT mean we can do anything without your approval. It’s simply the permission that allows transactions to pop up on your screen. Whop auth only uses read-only transactions to verify ownership of an NFT.
