Discord has become a popular way to organize communities — typically private — online. Creating a Discord server is quick and easy. If you already have a server that you want to use, skip to the second step.
To get started, click on the green “+ Add a Server” button in the menu bar (lower left-hand side of the Discord App). Next, select “Create My Own” and then “For a club or community.” Give your server a custom name and logo (see below).
Navigate to your company settings, discord tab and click the Add Discord server button. Adding the Whop Bot will give you the ability to automatically add/remove users from your Discord server. . Select your Discord server from the drop-down (see below).
To enable your Whop Bot to add/remove members and assign roles, you’ll need to rank the bot as the highest role (simply drag it to the top of the list). You can do this in your server’s settings panel (see video below).
On this page you'll want to make sure you fill out the following:
Pass title - This is the name of the membership you're selling. For this example we'll call it "The Awesome Company Membership".
Pass description - You can think of this as your "product description". When they purchase your access pass and get access to whatever Discord role you grant them, what is included in that?
Perks - Here you select all of the perks a members unlocks upon purchasing your Access Pass.
Custom - your own set of custom perks that your members get access to with the membership
Discord roles - The roles automatically assigned to members who join this pass
Content - Create exclusive content for your members. Examples include guides, articles, videos, photos, and more
Software - Give your members access to downloadable software. Great for selling access to desktop apps, extensions, web apps, and more
Links - Give your members exclusive access to an app or website. Works great for web apps, calendly links, livestreams, private chat rooms, and more
Files - Give your members access to downloadable files. Whop currently supports the following file types: jpg, mov, mp3, mp4, and zip.
Pricing options - Here is how you can charge for your Access Pass. For this example, we will charge $25.00 / month for access to the premium Discord roles selected above
Stock - If you're looking to do a limited release for this Discord role, you can set the stock here, otherwise leave it set to unlimited.
Visibility - If you're not looking for this new Access Pass to be available for purchase on your product page you can set it to either unlocked with a password or hidden. Otherwise, if you'd like it visible leave it checked on visible to everyone.
Requirements - If you want to create an exclusive pricing option, add pre-requisites for members admission here. These can include pass ownership, discord roles, and more! Having pre-requisites is great idea if you only want certain people to have access to your Pass.
Advanced requirements are a set of extra conditions you can define to further tune your pricing option. You can give an internal Nickname to your pricing option, colect custom responses at checkout and even more!
Once you're ready to launch your first Access Pass, click save!
All of the boring stuff is done, now it's time to sell some Discord roles!! All that's left is you can click the "Preview pass" button on the page you were redirected to, and start promoting that link all over!
You’ll use Whop Business to manage your Discord community. To get started, sign up on the (it’s free!) and click “Get started for free” Follow the prompts below to get it launched!
To set up the Discord role access pass shortcut, you'll want to head to the passes page . You'll click the new pass button in the top right, and select the Discord Roles shortcut in the top left of the pop-up.
